 Prenatal Pilates

Prenatal Pilates exercises target the exact muscles and functions that can become stressed during pregnancy and after birth, in a completely safe way.  Any pain or discomfort in the lower back or pelvic floor will be addressed as well as an increased focus on balance and posture work to help stabilize the body as it shifts to accommodate the extra weight and space of the baby.  Because Pilates work engages your deepest core muscles, pelvic floor, hips and spine, you’ll develop muscle strength during your pregnancy and memory that will also help your body recover faster post-pregnancy. Please consult with your doctor before enrolling.

Postnatal Pilates

Postnatal Pilates exercises are designed to get back in touch with the body after birth - Caesarean or vaginal- in a mindful and effective way.  The classes aim to strengthen and stretch in all the right places so moms leave feeling good in their body.  There will be a strong focus on reconnecting to and firming up the deepest core muscles and stabilizing the pelvis to address all the bending and lifting that goes along with having a new baby.  This work also helps bring the body back to its pre-pregnancy shape.  Postnatal Pilates helps new moms re-learn neutral alignment, correcting the postural imbalances that occurred during pregnancy.  The results include a healthy and pain free spine, a reduction in the likelihood of injuries, and overall support in the body.  Please consult with your doctor before enrolling.
